Unique Self-Catering Lodges On The Isle Of Wight

Experience the best of both worlds in our lodges which are set in a peaceful nature reserve but within walking distance of Ryde, the largest town on the Island. With a wide selection of boutique shops, cafes & restaurants, museums and galleries as well as a wonderful family friendly beach, Ryde is often referred to as the 'Gateway to the Island' as travel from the mainland to the town couldn't be easier.

Monktonmead - Sleeps up to 6

Scandanavian style Monktonmead lodge is particularly suited to families. It has two bedrooms; a double and a twin - with adult sized bunk beds. There is also a loft area in the eaves with twin beds at floor level - great fun for older children, although not suitable for the elderly or very young! The bathroom has a shower pod (no bath) and a utility area with washing machine. The kitchen is a good size with plenty of storage, a small breakfast bar seating two, a full size fridge freezer, oven and induction hob. There is a large private decking area with patio furniture and a BBQ. Guests staying at Monktonmead have use of our private indoor heated pool, with doors which can be opened onto the garden.

Woodside - Sleeps up to 4

Tastefully furnished, Woodside lodge has one double bedroom with room for up to two additional guests on a sofa bed in the living space. The spacious kitchen has everything you need for your self catering holiday (if you can resist eating out at all the lovely local cafes and pubs!) and there is a washing machine for your use too. The cosy living room has bi-fold doors overlooking a private gated decking area, which includes a BBQ and patio furniture. A rainfall shower is fitted in the sizeable wet room. Guests staying at Woodside have use of our private heated indoor pool. We welcome well behaved dogs (maximum 2) to Woodside.

For larger families or groups both lodges can be booked together at a discounted rate, please contact us for more information.

The Surroundings

On your doorstep .....

Our holiday lodges are set within the grounds of our own home, Arethusa Cottage, which has a large garden that you are welcome to enjoy!  Our cottage is of local historical interest and both this and the lodges are set within Pig Leg Lane nature reserve, a natural area of meadow and woodland on the southern edge of Ryde, adjoining the Monktonmead Brook. This beautiful unspoilt area is one of the few areas in Ryde where you can enjoy the countryside as it might have looked in years gone by.
